Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) / Minimally Access Surgery (MAS)

The field of Minimally Invasive Surgery or Minimally Access Surgery (MAS) as it is commonly known has grown remarkably over the past 2 decades. The imaginations and creativity of pediatric surgeons worldwide has lead to a broad array or surgeries that can now be performed without large incisions. It has shorter hospital stays, less analgesic requirement after surgery, more rapid return to school and cosmetic satisfaction. MAS has a great impact on the way we manage pediatric surgical problems today.
